‘Hard Times’ expansion includes four new, incredibly challenging puzzle levels: ‘Container Chaos’, ‘Shaft Shuffle’, ‘Brainyard’ and ‘Assembly Line’. These levels were created as a response to fans that found the original stages a bit too easy. The ‘Hard Times’ content is designed to use all of the existing game mechanics, with an emphasis on puzzle-solving as opposed to combat, and offers a difficult test for even the most experienced players.
Hard times is currently available on Steam.
A full package with DRM-free Rochard builds (Windows, Mac, Linux), the original soundtrack, Hard Times and Steam keys (Hard Times Steam key is being added) can be obtained from the Humble Store:

So, I bought Rochard via the Humble Indie Bundle, and the idea of a pack of puzzle levels is pretty interesting. However, I don’t use Steam. Would I really have to buy another whole copy of the game from the Humble Store to get the DLC, or is there some way to just buy the DLC from the Humble Store?
We’re looking for a solution. Only a few distribution platforms support DLCs, but none of them support DRM-free versions (– not sure for Desura).
How can I get DRM-free ‘Hard Times’ to Rochard that I already got on Humble Indie Bundle?
Shaft Shuffle seems to have a bug where the fuse you need to make your way after the vertical shaft (first?) disappears when resuming from the checkpoint. Or as it just did in this (my umpteenth) attempt, the fuse is there but trapped under the platform at the top of the shaft with no way of retrieving it from behind four solid surfaces.
I must admit I’ve no idea how you’re supposed to get the fuse to the top anyway, my solution was anti-gravity goo, but with two rounds needed just to start it moving and the really tight timing required to get up to the first platform before the goo ‘expires’ it’s more infuriating trial and error than puzzle solving and I’ve been unable to manage it before I run out of goo in failed attempts. Because of the bug I’m having to restart the level from scratch and I’m slowly losing the will to keep trying. Maybe there’s another much simpler solution that I’m missing, I really hope so?
Yes, this is a feature… the checkpoints are triggered by player location and the player is assumed to have the fuse. We’re looking if we could fix this easily.
Just to clarify, that’s actually the second shaft, the one just after the air-shaft section. A wide shaft with fixed boxes for g-swinging. Whichever checkpoint is used, the one at the bottom of the shaft or the one at the top, the same bug applies.
A great pack of quite challenging levels. I think I solved some parts in a harder way than intended, because they felt really evil. Kiitos.
